Therapy for Individuals, Couples and Families

Patricia A. Kramer specializes in therapy for Individuals, Couples & Families

I believe none of us exist in a vacuum. All of our experiences and relationships occur in the context of a system. It is in these systems where we emotionally thrive or stall.

As a trained therapist in Family Systems, I look at each person as part of a whole, taking into account all of the roles and experiences that impact us, both past and present. Exploring what might be getting in the way and discovering solutions, while looking through a larger lens, allows for a more fulfilling outcome to treatment. Whether you are entering into individual, couple or family therapy, treatment is always exploratory and collaborative.  My ongoing role is to be an empathetically involved partner on your therapeutic journey.

Couples

Couples therapy is also a good idea if one of you is coping with an issue that might be affecting your relationship or simply if you're feeling stuck.

Couples seek therapy for any number of reasons, including poor communication, intimacy issues, financial stress, family problems and major life changes such as getting married or starting a family. All of these events can cause added anxiety and strain in a relationship- which is understandable.  Exploring how to communicate effectively- which includes feeling heard, understood and respected are important goals which lead to lasting changes. Goals are all worked out collaboratively within the course of therapy and in the context of everyday life.
